Hey guys, Guess who's still alive!
I know I haven't been very active in the past, but it's the summer, so let's try this again.
I have recently finished reading Again, But Better by Christine Riccio so I decided to review it! (Also I just really liked how I could work it into the title).
*NOTE: This is a completely spoiler free review.
SYNOPSIS: Shane has always wanted a chance to re-do college, so when she found a study abroad writing program, she happily took the chance to venture to London. But Shane has forgotten to consider the without considering the consequences. Originally on a pre-med track to please, Shane has to figure out how to be herself, while pleasing her parents, making connections with friends and regain her footing and enjoy college, all while falling for a boy... who has a girlfriend.
GOOD STUFF: - Harry Potter references are awesome!
- Shane is an interesting and funny character
- Takes place in Europe, mainly in London
- Greatly paced
- Shane's friends are great!!! Especially Babe and Atticus.
- The unpredictability!!!!!!! (I did not see it coming)
OK STUFF/ THINGS THAT COULD BE IMPROVED: - The writing style
- Shane and Pilot's and Amy's relationship!!! UGH! Didn't like it.
- The romance!!!!!!!
RELATIABILITY: Personally, I could not relate to Shane's motivations. I really wanted to, but I come from a different background than Shane and I don't have the same motivations for college and life. I can relate to her bookish love and humor! So overall, I know I couldn't connect with Shane, but I feel like others could.
OVERALL/ FINAL REVIEW: Overall, I rated this a 3 out of five stars. I really loved the concept of the book and all the Harry Potter references, as well as the twist that caught me by surprise. However, unfortunately, I didn't like the drama between the characters or the romance in this book.
So that was the review for Again but better. Let me know if you guys have any critiques about the format, please let me know. I'm always trying to improve. Anyways, I hope you guys have a day!
Until next time,
Nitya :D
