Hey Guys!
Yes, I am back. Sorry I haven't posted in like three months, and I wish I had a really cool excuse like, "Oh I was abducted by aliens," or "I was solving a super discrete mystery regarding a top-secret agency," or "I was sent on a quest in a high fantasy kingdom where I stopped a notorious evil monster king from taking over the world," but no.... I was just really busy with school and life.
Basically, I am in too many extracurriculars and I have to balance it with school work. AND EXAMS ARE COMING UP!!!! WHYYYY!!!!!
But this month I am participating in Camp NaNoWriMo! For those of you that don't know, Camp NaNoWriMo is a virtual writing camp where you meet all kinds of aspiring authors from around the globe and write! It's awesome.
I decided I want to write 25000 words for camp this April. Currently, I am around 4,000 words behind where I need to, with around 9000 words! Wish me luck catching up!
I am currently working on my second draft of my first novel, The Kingdom of Irdris, and I actually a doing pretty well! I do surprisingly prefer writing the second draft over the first draft, which is kind of an unpopular opinion. I just find it satisfying to go back and rewrite all the messy and out of place scenes and improve my writing style from my previous draft.
I do recommend if you know you are writing a second draft, be sure to read over your work without making major changes to it. You can change that during the rewrite, so don't waste your time (Unless you want to, of course. You do you!)! Also, don't be afraid to make changes to your plot.
But besides Camp NaNoWriMo, I haven't been up to very much lately besides school. I want to start posting more regularly but... we'll see what happens. XD. Before I leave, I'd like to share an excerpt from my novel.
This scene is the first scene of my book... At least for now

The Griffin’s Claw can be sharper than the beak if its wit were sharper than the claw itself. Else the sword in its claw would sever the beak and the Griffin would whimper until it finds a way to mend itself for no one was waiting to aid the poor creature.
Risa Rosewalker smiled to herself as she read that phrase for the hundredth time on her way back from class. She never understood it completely, but it gave her a sense of nostalgia. She stood there, at the central yard of the school and admired the view of the beautiful school once more. The marble towers that stretched till the clouds and the cobblestoned pathways that lined the school. The lime green grass that always gave off a sweet sent during the summer, and the tall clocktower as it struck five and a cloud of Griffins flew across the bright blue evening sky.
She would miss this place. But she was more than ready to go home, for she hadn’t been to Irdris in four years; Not since she started her schooling at Griffin’s Claw Academy.
She made her way back to the dormitory and neatly packed the rest of her books in her trunk. Seeing that she had time to spare, Risa along with her close friends, Dante, Helga, Makayla, Sieth and Layla explored the fortress one last time before departure.

Well, see you guys next time!
